Our Vision & Mission

We WORSHIP

+ because our God is worthy of ALL our praises.
+ because, in His presence, there is healing, freedom, joy and peace.

We SHARE

+ because Jesus promised to be there when we gather together.
+ because we desire to bear one another's burdens.

We PRAY

+ because our God hears our prayers and promises to answer them.
+ because when we pray for one another we will be healed.

Our Vision

CMDA Greater NYC Chapter (Tristate– NYC, Westchester, Rockland, LI, Northern NJ, Southern CT) was formed in 2000 to fulfill CMDA’s vision of “Transformed doctors transforming the world” in the Metro New York City Area, and later “Strengthening Christian doctors and dentists to fulfill their God-given calling.”

We gather in person and online for fellowship, prayer, Bible study, and medical missions according to Hebrews 10:23-25 - "Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful. And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near."

Our Mission and Beliefs

Mission

The Christian Medical and Dental Associations (CMDA) exist to glorify God—by educating, encouraging, and equipping Christian healthcare professionals and students:

  • to serve with professional excellence as witnesses of Christ's love and compassion, and
  • by advancing biblical principles of healthcare within the Church and to our culture.

We strive to fulfill our mission by our commitment to be:

  • Christ-like
  • Controlled by the Holy Spirit
  • Committed to Scripture
  • Communing in Prayer
  • Compassionate
  • Competent
  • Courageous
  • Culturally Relevant

CMDA Greater NYC, a local ministry group chapter of the national Christian Medical & Dental Associations, is a growing community of health professionals and students dedicated to glorifying God and transforming lives through the love of Christ. We serve healthcare professionals at every career level and in every specialty throughout New York City, Long Island, Westchester and Rockland, northern New Jersey, and southern Connecticut.

What We Believe

Although our meetings are open to everyone, we require our leaders at all levels to agree with the essentials of the Christian faith as outlined in the CMDA Doctrinal Statement. While we all hold to other particular beliefs as taught in our various denominations, these are the core beliefs common to Christians as taught in the Bible:

  1. We believe the Bible to be the authoritative Word of God.
  2. We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
  3. We believe in the deity and humanity of Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, in His present rule as Head of the Church, and in His personal return in power and glory.
  4. We believe that salvation is based on the sacrifice of Christ and regeneration by the Holy Spirit.
  5. We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit, by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life.
  6. We believe in the bodily resurrection of the just and unjust, the everlasting blessedness of the saved and the everlasting punishment of the lost.
  7. We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ, with equality across racial, gender, and class differences.
